What’s up family! Thank you for checking out another DOPE edition of Vinyl Vybz! AND for sharing this link and spreading the word!!! Expect to hear INCREDIBLE music from the likes of The Roots, Jill Scott, Bahamadia, J-Dilla, 2000 Black, J*Davey, The Pharcyde, and Nicolay just to name a few. Also some hometown HEAT from artists from MY city Chicago like Rita J, Vice Verse, and an artist feature with “Da Counts” the Primeridian. Plus more BANGAS from independent artists like DiViNe SeVeN , Shade Cobain, ECHO and more artists that I think you’re going to be hearing a lot from in 2011.

Next week I’m switching things up a little bit with a new theme. I’m a Hip Hop head 1st and foremost but I LOVE all music! And although Vinyl Vybz is a Hip Hop / Soul show, I’m blessed to be on playvybz and be able to spread my wings from time to time and display my love for ALL music. I’m able to be a DJ and NOT a robot! So back in November I ended a Vinyl Vybz show with 4 pop records from the 80’s. From those 4 songs alone the positive feedback from you all was MASSIVE! I can’t front. I knew some people would be feeling it but I was pleasantly surprised by the HUGE amount of love I got for playing those songs. SO, next week I’m doing a 80’s pop show JUST for all of my fam that showed me love and grew up on this music like I did . I’m playing 2 hours of 80’s pop CLASSICS from the Pet Shop Boys, Tears for Fears, Joe Jackson, Talking Heads, Peter Gabriel, The Eurythmics, Freeez and SO much more! So be sure to tune in! Even if you don’t like 80’s pop music I invite you to STILL tune in. You might be surprised!!! Hip Hop owes a thank you to a lot of these artists!
